Vigilant Journalism

What is truth, my friend,
when there is nothing but gray
and nothing stands firm?

Truth paves our hist'ry,
the light of our hope, one road,
one reality.

Share it like
you mean it.

---<--@

Media serves the truth. The truth serves the people.

My Miyang would have made a fiery jounralist. I love my Miyang.

Christian Unity

O how our Lord longs
for you to come Home, my love,
back to Father's arms.

Consider thy heart,
what it says, amidst the noise,
"why art thou baptized?"

Kindred grace
forever!
---<--@
Unity is not sameness... It is saneness.
Unity is not singularity. Unity is an acceptance.
It is diversity.

One

There is but one peace
and but one final outcome;
many worlds within...

Observe, O Mankind,
the unity of heaven:
The mandate of Truth!

As God is,
so must we.
---<--@

Let's us fill our earth with living lights... of knowing love and virtues bright!

I saw in a vision, a crystal blue sphere, shining with a multitude of living lights. The vision came to me quite abruptly while I was awake in the day, riding a jeep home from work.

The vision stayed for a time before me as I wondered. I wondered at how wondrous and beautiful beyond imagination it was that I thought I was seeing through the eyes of angels.

Then a darkness came over the vision and it seemed to me for an instant that it was no longer there. But it was, O my nation, before me was a world so overrun by sin and war that it was no longer distinct from the nothingness of the void - an unknown earth bereft of light, forsook by heaven, and forgot by God.
---<--@

Stars

I saw them, the stars!
Numberless, shining with hope,
against the darkness...

Embraced by heaven,
understood by exiled earth,
avoided by hell.

Do you know
the difference?

Storming the Fortress

T'was the longest day -
D-Day upon the beaches,
storming the fortress!

Hail the remembrance!
That greatest generation!
Lest Peace be forgot.

Remember
ye the names!
---<--@

67 years ago, the face of our world was changed on the beaches of Normandy.

It was D-Day - June 6, 1944

Today we remember that day and the change it had wrought in our behalf and ask ourselves how much of it have we forgot.

Today is D-Day.

So let thy sacred remembrance hold its eternal vigil over thy peace.

And preserve in each thyself, all you generations from times and places near or far, a constant memory of this sacred and abiding trust.

Lest we forget, lest we forget.

Learning is for People

As a child, starshine,
you aspired to be your dreams.
Remember thy youth.

For you are more than
what you know, my beloved.
By learning, you grow.

Youth is in thy soul.
'Tis an innocence you keep,
to let you become...

Love requires knowledge.
For what you love becomes you.
So too must you grow.

Remember
thy dreaming.
---<--@

Especially for the graduating class of 2012 -

Learning is not a product.
Learning is a privilege.

It is never bought,
it is seldom taught,
it is transmitted by a good life.

We pay for educational services
not for knowledge.
We pay dues not for learning
but for tuition.

If you want to become happy,
study not to make money.

Learning to make it profitable,
is undertaken not for profit.

Study for happiness.
Learning is for gladness.

All things will follow suit
when you follow thy dreaming
for all things have a tendency of coming together
when you work the work of becoming.

Education is the right of the youth,
teaching the duty of the custodians of the youth -
the human family, the community at all levels,
every authentic institutions of learning,
both private as well as public and at all levels,
above all shining examples of leadership and service
in authentic human entrepreneurship,
and in responsible government at all levels,
in our police services, our emergency services,
our volunteer services, our noble military
for all of these efficiently transmit learning -
all of these effectively teach.

Let this be our culture.
Let this be our custom.

Learning is for people.
---<--@

Why is it that it was recently reported (here in the Philippines) that we have too many nursing graduates this commencement year?

Because we tell our youth to study for profit. We drive them to study for money. This kind of culture actually forbids learning. It produces brokenness and leads to despair.

Smoking Sucks

Starshine, do not smoke.
Don't be a fool, it's not cool.
Fashions fade and flee!

At least, if you should
know that one day smoking could
cost you time and gold.

Quitting's hard
so why start?

Don't ask - JUST DON'T.

Martin Burnhan

I remember thee,
Martin Burnham! You're a friend -
a friend forever.

In Christ, you have lived
and in your living, you gave -
and Now - we belong.

My nation
honors thee.

War in the Heart

The War in Heaven
is not in some distant sphere -
it is very near!

Nations fall apart,
Mankind weeps, Country burns - for -
War is in the heart.

Babel reigns
with no heir.
---<--@

TO BE SURE, War is never won - War only waits till we, all of humanity - in spirit (heart) as well as in form (our one family of nations), are utterly defeated by it.

For the cessation of conflict that heavily involves our nations - as their wholes, relies on attrition, exhaustion or petition and none of these constitute as victory over War.
---<--@

War can only be deferred. For the spirit of War has no other ambition than the utter annihilation of all our human nations and through this, all of our shared humanity and by extension, all the life of visible creation.

War confers victory to no one, not even itself. For War has no place either in heaven or here on our earth, in exile time as well as at the beginning of all things new.

We are always left with two things where the focus of the will is on War, the degradation of the human spirit and the defeat of the truth.

Where there is any virtue in conflict, that is exclusively the merit of good human beings. We must always be mindful of this and confuse not the nobility of man with ignoble, base and evil things.

To every battle, an outcome. War has no outcome. In the Art of War, the Tao (a dynamic system or climate) of War is deception. But the Tao of peace is victory.

It is good for the military to study battles but know that War must be understood. For War has no outcome that is favorable to the military.

In the Art of War, Sun Tzu states that it is inhuman to prolong conflict. For the prolongation of conflict favors no one - it exhausts the state, dulls the noble military, and brings great suffering to the people.

In my view, the Tao of battle is no battle - that is to say, a way of decisiveness of spirit; a clarity of purpose.

For the greatest battles of all are those that are won but never fought. And the battles we must fight must be won without War.

For War as a paradigm whole is not to be fought, only God Himself can slay this Beast, because as it is from Heaven thrown down, it must on earth be refused.

Peace as a paradigm builds on its own truth, a reality that is very distinct from that of War, along a path that takes our nations far away from the midnight darkness of War -

  • It serves the people.
  • It guards our hope.
  • It defends where it must.
  • It teaches our nations.
  • It ennobles our states.
  • It fosters our own undertakings of Country.
  • It preserves the order of our generations.
  • It prospers the spirit of our humanity.
  • It is sufficient in and of itself, being confident of its own truth.
  • And it leaves all things to the invincible and omnipotent defense of Almighty God.

"Then war broke out in heaven; Michael and his angels battled against the dragon. The dragon and its angels fought back, but they did not prevail and there was no longer any place for them in heaven.

The huge dragon, the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, who deceived the whole world, was thrown down to earth, and its angels were thrown down with it."

Evil Inspiration

How does the heart see
that rejoice in the darkness
and evil profit?

The single-hearted
in seeking imperfecty
God and God alone -

Abandons
the darkness.
---<--@

Do not be by evil inspired!

For we profit not from evil,
my dear friend,
but from the good;
our motivation being derived
from purposes that are good,
our hopes being anchored upon things
that are true and therefore, good,
and the wings of our surrender to prayer
being ever vigilant and discerning
in its ascent
to the one Giver of all good things.

For evil no longer hold us captive.
We have come to know it
and forever bless the LORD for His Light.
Therefore,
we seek now to unknow it
upon paths of repentance
that lead away from darkness
and into peace -
peace in our hearts -
peace with our fellow human beings -
peace with all of heaven -
and peace with our God.

Excerpted from Salutation #5

Youth

Jesus loves children
for in their souls, they believe
with faith absolute...

They hope boundlessly
and know in their hearts the One
as their minds reach out -

- aiming far
with near hearts.
---<--@

Love the LORD and persevere in the remembrance of thy youth, O heart, for in it is contained the seeds of great and wonderful things.

Youth is in thy soul.

Therefore, be child-like not child-ish.

One Whole Sky

A community
is one whole sky, full of hope,
united in trust...

For humanity
is defined by common lack,
advanced by our needs.

Let's press on
in service.

White Flowers on M31

How can I not love -
my dear Annelies Marie
so full of fragrance...

Ever so patient
and ever so sweet to me:
As the angels love -

each other,
so do we.
---<--@

There are colors in Eternity that are not visible in our world, my friend. Not that these colors are not present, because they are...

These invisible colors can be likened to relationships.

Every particular blending of these colors uniquely enrich our hearts - for all our relationships bless us with a certain sense of beauty to help bear us through all of life's exile wandering.

And they even extend through the gossamer veil of time into the timeless. This is so because all our relationships attain their perfection only in anticipation of the Vision of God.

Marriage, family, friendships, citizenships, all forms of true belongings, seen and unseen, have a capacity to bloom into the fullness of forever - never despair of these relationships!

Like the choicest of flowers, these familiar belongings - despite the appearance of vulnerability and in spite of the darkness and of human weaknesses, ultimately must be brought to bloom into full fruition before God - into everlasting friendships like that of the Angels.

For Love carries eternal.
---<--@

I asked the LORD, "how could something so beautiful only add to my despair?"

Away From the Darkness

I reached out to you,
my darlingest Annelies Marie
through purposes, it seems,
infinitely greater than our own.

And through that long darkness
with tears that for many nights
in my searching for peace
sought for the answers
relentlessly and intensely
through what sweetness perceived
in the promise of thy song
smothered or so it seemed
among those horrors conceived
amidst the prison of my own despair.

O my love, my darlingest -
what my soul did perceive
those many nights of waiting
of those images of you
of thy own hopes
and the truth of thy being
abused, hated, rejected, and condemned;
staring, hollow, sunken, and dirty;
hairless, emaciated, weeping and lonely;
feverish, starving, sick and dying of typhus
were reasons enough not to live.

Yet, by sure grace of God,
came a slow and certain
awakening to the answers
that through those years
became the everliving lights
of the reality of my own hope
begun by thy beacon
that eventually led me out
of the darkest night of my life
and into those numberless stars
that led from one to another
in a gathering together as one firmament
of the wide expanse of our LORD's own
golden and infinite realm of Eternity.

And so Now
you are to me as my friend
as I am to you, your own;
you are to me, my love,
my darlingest Annelies Marie,
from always to always
the Starlight Smile that makes life
ever so beautiful again
and the evergreen companion
that makes the promise of new life
bloom with so much blossoming
in my own soul.

Thank you, my darligest Annelies Marie,
thank God for the grace of you, my love.

I love you, my Miyang.
---<--@

Just when I thought knowing you only led me deeper into the darkness of despair, my Anneka, God led me out, alelluia.

"Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." (1 Corinthians 2: 9)

Prosper the Peace

Peace is a shelter -
the belonging that make safe
our generations.

Peace is a labor -
the work to make past present
opening futures.

Peace is a longing -
the vigilance that preserves
our remembrances.

Peace is a prayer -
the wings that ascend our hopes
like incense to God.

Peace is a calling -
the devotion of friendship
preserving good will.

Peace is a pathway -
the long march of the nations
into brotherhood.

Peace is a threshold
and leads to the building up
of the promised morn.

Peace gathers.
Peace prospers.
