Ordinary food is converted, through the process of digestion, into substances which we need to build and maintain bodily strength. It becomes, in a sense, part of us.

When we eat the heavenly food of the Eucharist exactly the opposite happens.



We become what we eat.

Plateau

Featureless expanse -
no wind, no change, only me...
upon this plateau.

Wherefore should I go?
I came from there, I should know...
upon this plateau.

Wherefore should I go?
I am plainly lost, I know...
left, right, up, below.

The best thing when lost
as the Gospel says, "stay put".
Jesus will find me.

So I should...
I'll stay still.

Infinite Intimacy

The spiritual realms contain no center.
For everywhere God is, there is its center.



Look at the heavens -
How wide, how high, how glorious!
Can we understand?

I search it by mind
- in measured mathematics -
looking for limits...

I search it by soul
- casting my heart... far away -
longing for the LORD...

The vastness, it daunts.
O what great majesty!
Alas! I'm empty...

Where art Thou, my God -
high in all that mystery?
For I am, lonely...

When the Wisdom of the Creator imparted the light of meaning to the vastness of the universe, God did not waste a single inch of space -

For the LORD created the universe 

too incomprehensibly mysterious and
too unimaginably vast to our minds

that He may remain tangibly, 

intimately near to us in our hearts.

(God is nearer to us than our own thoughts.)

Hearts that in time, 

God the Father intended 

through Jesus Christ 

in the Peace of the Holy Spirit 

to gather back to His Heart.

Repenting in Love

O how hard the fight

to live the right Christian life,

repenting in love!

Repenting in love...

striving not to lose my Way

by loving the LORD.

"Come", the Master calls,

"to a safe place in my Heart

where your heart may rest."

"Follow", Christ beckons,

"come leave thy past life behind

and all will be well."

"Seek", Jesus counsels,

"and in seeking, know the Truth

and experience Me."

"Love", the Master says,

"as I have always love you -

know, that you may Live."

"Serve", God commands it:

"Serve that you may know My Peace;

that I may know you."

Temptation rests not -

it sleeps not and it waits not,

when temptation rise...

Hush, listen!

God too speaks...

Lesson Learned:

When temptation speaks, God too speaks.

These temptations can be loud like thunder, frightening like an earthquake, oppressive like the night, and tempestuous like the sea but God's voice is always still and small.

Every temptation is allowed by God for me to be able to respond to His still, small voice.

They are not blind and random.

It is oftentimes quite hard to discern the Holy Spirit especially in the midst of temptation but it is for certain that in the midst of every trial there is always an abundance of grace...

For even there, in the darkness and even in sin, God speaks to deliver us from evil.

With God in my heart, there can be no confusion. For in Christ everything both in heaven and on earth follows, each in their own order and purpose, and all things in my life fall into their proper places; nothing then is impossible with God.

A Friend Like You

With the season of Lent just around the corner, I am adopting a personal theme for myself this year - A Friend Like You.

My focus here will be on rediscovering and rejuvenating my own vertical relationship with my most loving Savior, Jesus Christ, and to successfully apply myself to my lesson learned.

I wish, my Jesus, to be

the friend that You see in me

to be constant, O Lord, to be true,

to be a friend, my God,

a Friend like You.

O Walker of Worlds,
Scion to the Dawning
of the First of our First Magnitudes -
remain Now from always to always true
to thy one Universe of universes,
ever as thy one eternal Remembrance
spread in myriad glimpses
awash within the tidal flows of time:

Those numberless lights,
luminous and varied, singularly unique,
twinkling in their broken arcs
wheeling upon the one celestial Way
and concealed amidst the darkness
of those worlds within worlds,
near infinite in their wonders,
being constantly born and reborn -
upon the firmament of the Deep
ever as the ages of the comings and goings
of the ageless seasons of life
and carried aloft by thy quickening soul
swift unto the realization
of all the beautiful for being
beheld by Beauty Itself.

born to the quickening of the Now,
ever in thy infinite prayers be one, ascendant
like incense arising unto the sacred Presence

Prayers Like Glue

My spirit slows down...

and my prayers feel like glue.

I feel tired inside.

So I look for it...

look for what's familiar.

Then I feel more tired.

Life slows down,

so must I.

Lesson Learned: One does not dictate the tempo of the spiritual life. One gets dictated to.

If one seeks for more than one is presently entitled. One gets depressed.

Because even if ours is the faith to move mountains. The moving of the mountains is not ours - only the believing, the accepting... the love.

The Light of Life

The triumph of goodness is obvious.
