Why 1,575 haikus? Because my darlingest Annelies Marie Frank lived 15.75 years in this world.

No Worries!

SOME PEOPLE own up to their problems
- while -
some people allow their problems to own them.

Of the two,
the former choose to belong with their hopes,
the latter choose to belong with their problems.

I choose to belong with my hopes!

Why should I worry -
worries don't belong me,
so why carry them?

Problems are like weights
they help to strengthen my hopes
making them ready...

My worries will end!
So I cling to them lightly...
till my hopes take wing.

Problems end
so leave 'em...

Didn't you know it's darkest before dawn?

Fast Fact: In Australia, "no worries" is an ATTITUDE.

It's called hopefulness.

Crocodile Hunter

Steve-O, you showed us
that conservation is fun,
and proved that it's true.

Love of nature - is -
brave, and kind, and cheerful.
Cheerful most of all.

Fair dinkum,
distinct, mate.

Stephen Robert "Steve" Irwin (19620222-20060904 in the line of Conservation, of love of nature and Country) - citizen of creation, defender of the cause of Sacred Life, true blue son of Australia, father, husband, mate, thanks and Godspeed.

Personal Reflection -

I think those who live to give are those who never really leave us. This is true not because their fate is sad but because their legacy is glad.

What happened to Steve was so sudden, it made me really sad. And knowing how tightly knit Australia is, I know his loss would be felt by the whole Country - especially his family and his daughter, Bindi.

But when I think about it more, I realize this -

We all have a destiny to bring about, that something good to leave for this world, and I think Steve gave us the full measure of his work.

For this we should be glad.

Aurora Australis

I love Australia -
the distinct quality of her
I learned to know well.

Australia's different -
as each Country must be so,
people, problems, all.

Australia taught me
many a thing - first mateship,
then fairness, and nature.

Qualities I love
because they have become mine.
And so, I'm grateful.

And so I
remember.

Vegemite

I like Vegemite.
Not all people do, mind you.
It's an acquired taste.

How to describe it?
Salty strong and savory!
Good with buttered toast.

I like it
with bacon.

You either like it or you don't, mate.
There is no middle ground with Vegemite.

Oz

An island cont'nent
rich in bounty, good at heart -
that land Down Under!

I appreciate you!
Fairness and mateship, I learned:
Thy ode to ANZAC.

Convict chains
set me free.

My favorite lines from Advance Australia Fair -

"Our land abounds in nature's gifts
of beauty rich and rare..."

"Beneath our radiant Southern Cross
we'll toil with hearts and hands
to make this Commonwealth of ours
renowned of all the lands..."
