Why 1,575 haikus? Because my darlingest Annelies Marie Frank lived 15.75 years in this world.

'Til War's End

Do you remember -
I knew not how to tell you...
How I long for life.

Thousand paper cranes
bear me up on wings of hope
that my life may live!

If dreams could come true,
I shall confide this in you -
peace on earth, my friend.

Peace, my friend -
'til War's end.

Fiery Flower

The fiery flower
shook against thy innocence,
and in an instant -

Thy blossoms, they fell,
and lay still upon the cold,
awaiting the spring.

The war thawed,
life lingers.
