Why 1,575 haikus? Because my darlingest Annelies Marie Frank lived 15.75 years in this world.

Tempest

Sometimes you're floating
in a sea of temptations -
afraid, in the dark.

You grin and bear it.
And hold out against the storm.
By the thinnest threads.

And it ends.
And you're back.

The Tempest

Just as every storm has a duration.
Every temptation has a limit.
A limit set by God, so as to challenge the soul,
and not to defeat it.
To reach this limit is the task of patience.

To fall short of this limit, more so.

Our spirit becomes stronger in its flight
- ever by the grace of our God -
when we, despite ourselves,
constantly reach out for the calm we know is out there,
beyond the tempest.

To endure the tempest constantly
is the domain of holy perseverance.
And holy perseverance brings us home to God.

- selah -

"Do not bring us to the test,
but deliver us from evil."

AMEN.

Stuck in a Moment

There are times in life
when it seems nothing is right
because it's all wrong...

But it's not all wrong
when each moment is begun
with hope in the wing.

Never dwell
on the past.

Smile like your worries have an end... and they will.

Patience...

God knows when and where
to deliver whom He loves
who loves Him justly...

And God's grace, It comes -
if we hold out against sin
to make real, our hopes.

Be mindful
of your heart.

Boredom

Boredom is boring
without the quiet company
of fam'ly and friends!

So be with people.
Or go find something to do.
But remember this -

Boredom are like clouds.
They come in spells. But your mind,
it is like the sky.

Don't focus
on boredom.
---<--@

Father in Heaven, I take everything by Your hand.
I offer you this boredom. For I do not know what to do with it. Help me turn it into patience. AMEN.
